Grades 8 - 12: Madrichim (Religious School Teacher Assistant Program)

Grades 8 – 9: LTeen Connects
Our Grades 8 - 9 LTeen Connects program meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 8 pm and includes dinner with the Grade 10 Confirmation community. Each Tuesday we will engage in an exciting activity such as Cooking for a Cause, Would I Rather? and more. Grades 9 - 12: LarFTY and NFTY
Join our High School youth group! Led by our teens, LarFTY offers programming designed and led by a peer-elected board. LarFTY has exciting programs available for all high schoolers, including: social action, religious, cultural, educational, and recreational activities. This year’s LarFTY calendar includes a ski trip weekend in Vermont, an overnight shul-in, a comedy show, volunteering at the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force Food Pantry, apple picking, and weekly Starbucks office hours. There are also lots of NFTY NAR (New York Area) Regional and North American NFTY events, including the NFTY Convention with nearly 1500 teens in Dallas Texas February 15 - 19! Grade 10: Confirmation
Grade 10 learners have the extraordinary opportunity to spend the year learning with Rabbi Sirkman in Confirmation Class. Highlights include Tuesday night learning dedicated to developing one’s own theology, a trip to the Religious Action Center’s L’Takein Seminar (February 22-25, 2019), and participating in a special Shavuot Confirmation service at the end of the year. Grade 10 learners are also invited to serve as Madrichim (Assistant Teachers) in our Religious School and to participate in LARFTY, our synagogue’s youth group.
Grades 11 & 12
Diner Dialogues: 11th and 12th grade learners meet with Rabbi Sirkman monthly for Diner Dialogues at the Nautilus Diner.
L'Takein Seminar: Our 11th and 12th graders can participate in the Religious Action Center’s L’Takein Seminar for second-timers February 22 - 25, 2019).
Southern Civil Rights Journey: Join Shoshy Levine and teens from Congregation Emanu-El of Rye for an extraordinary journey to the south to explore the history of civil rights and the roles Jews played as partners in this important part of our history. Date TBD.
