Barbara Davis from Larchmont Library will give a talk called “On the Home Front: New Rochelle’s Role in World War I” This is the 100th anniversary of The Great War, and our neighborhoods played a unique role. Come hear about New Rochelle’s “Come from Away” moment during World War I. This illustrated lecture is open to everyone. Bring your lunch and enjoy dessert and coffee. Schmooze with your friends and learn something new.

LT ON THE GO: Crown Heights Tour

We’ll go inside a day in the life of a Lubavitcher. Here are the highlights:
• Visit the headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch center and meet residents and scholars.
• Be among the privileged to enter the Rebbe’s library.
• Explore the high tech center, a virtual Star Trek where Rebbe’s speeches broadcast to the world.
• Visit the main Synagogue which looks more like the stock market than the stock market does!
• See 1890 Grandfather’s clock that calculates month according to the moon, as in the Jewish Calendar.
• Shop main street for Judaica, clothing for the entire family, baked goods and international foods
Tour is a maximum of $26 per person, (for 10 people) and proportionally less if more than 10. You must provide your own transportation. Car-pooling is recommended. If you are coming to services, a meeting or an event at Temple and don't have a car or a ride, the Shul Shuttle (operated by Larchmont Taxi) can get you here and bring you back home.
