LTRS Madrichim

The LTRS Madrichim Program, open to 8th through 12th graders, helps support both the learners and educators of the Larchmont Temple Religious School. Madrichim, through their various roles, work closely with Religious School learners to enhance their Jewish education in a meaningful way. Madrichim will also engage in their own learning and professional learning opportunities. All Madrichim meetings and sessions are required as part of the Madrichim Program. Dates will be available at the beginning of the school year.

Classroom Madrichim:

Sundays 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM, Mondays 3:15 - 5:30, Wednesdays 3:15 – 5:30

Classroom Madrichim (CM) each work in a Kindergarten through 6th grade classroom on Sunday mornings, Monday afternoons, and Wednesday afternoons (you can choose which sessions below) supporting the Religious School educators. CMs are responsible for helping to prep the day’s activities. During the school day they actively help with projects and lessons in the classroom, often providing one-on-one attention to students. CMs participate in shirah and t’filah with the learners, supporting the song leaders. CMs will serve as role models for the learners in many ways while at LT. CMs are required to attend Madrichim meetings throughout the year. Dates will be provided at the start of the school year.

Songleading Madrichim:

Sundays 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM, Mondays 3:15 - 5:30, Wednesdasy 3:15 – 5:30

Songleading Madrichim (SM) assist in planning and leading shirah and t’filah for our Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday learners (you can choose which sessions below). Through the program, SMs will have the opportunity to improve their skills as group leaders, help others to enjoy singing together, learn and create music, and improve their skills on a musical instrument. Keyboard, guitar, or percussion experience is preferred, but not required. SMs are required to attend Madrichim meetings throughout the year. Dates will be provided at the start of the school year.

Administrative Madrichim:

Sundays 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM, Mondays 3:15 - 5:30, Wednesdays 3:15 – 5:30

Administrative Madrichim (AM) work in the office in order to help Larchmont Temple run during our Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday programs (you can choose which sessions below). They will have the opportunity to answer the phones, greet parents and learners, assist office staff with daily needs, and be the face of Larchmont Temple while learners are in the building. AMs will have the opportunity to build real-world administration skills that are valuable in the working world. AMs are required to attend Madrichim meetings throughout the year. Dates will be provided at the start of the school year.

Social Media and Photography Madrichim:

Sundays 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM, Mondays 3:15 - 5:30, Wednesdays 3:15 – 5:30

Social Media and Photography Madrichim (SMPMs) are responsible for recording and reporting on what is happening on a daily basis during our Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday programs(you can choose which sessions below). SMPMs will be assigned grades and given cameras to take pictures of what is happening in the classroom, and uploading them to a LT computer. These pictures will be used in communication with parents, as well as during the end-of-the-year slide show. In addition, SMPMs will write 1-2 paragraph blog posts a couple times a year that will be used in the LTRS and Larchmont Temple Newsletter. These madrichim will be given special training in photography in order to highlight LTRS in the best possible way. SMPMs are required to attend Madrichim meetings throughout the year. Dates will be provided at the start of the school year.
