Larchmont Temple Small Groups
LT Small Groups are just what they sound like! They are small groups of temple members – usually 8 to 16 individuals or 3 to 5 families – who regularly meet over the course of a year, connected by a common interest, activity, or demographic. Through reading, exploring, volunteering, celebrating Shabbat or simply sharing our stories, LT Small Groups help members meet new people, deepen connections, and create memories together.
Small Groups are peer-led by congregants with the frequency, dates, and locations of meetings determined by the group with rotating responsibilities. Typically gathering 6-8 times during the year, groups might meet in members’ homes or backyards, at the Temple, or at an activity location like a hiking trail or a soup kitchen. Some groups will connect while participating in hands-on activities. Other groups will gather to discuss topics of concern or importance to their lives.
Small groups help to build a vibrant, inclusive community where members feel strongly connected to each other and to our congregation. We have groups geared towards adults, couples, or full families with children. We believe there is a Small Group for everyone; and if there isn’t yet, you can help us create it!
By nature, small groups are all limited in size, and some may fill up fast. If you are interested, sign up quickly when registration opens. We will do our best to accommodate everyone who wants to participate and will open additional subgroups whenever possible if one fills up.
