November 15th, 2023 is America Recycles Day!
Jewish tradition teaches us to care for our planet in order to preserve that which God has created. Judaism emphasizes our need to preserve our natural resources and generate new ones for future generations. We are encouraged l’avdah ul’shamrah, “to till and to tend,” to become the Earth’s stewards.
The video above was created by LMC Media about recycling Electronic Waste, Recyclables, Organic Waste, Food Scraps, and Furniture Recycling at the Maxwell Avenue Recycling Center (40 Maxwell Avenue, Larchmont.) Residents of the Village of Larchmont and the Town of Mamaroneck are able to utilize Maxwell Avenue’s resources through weekly curbside pickups and by dropping off specific items at the facility. (For residents of the Village of Mamaroneck, New Rochelle or other Westchester municipalities, below for further links.) Don’t let waste go to waste!
