You might have seen families telling their stories of their loved ones brutally captured and held hostage by Hamas. These brave families have been speaking to and making appearances at Central Synagogue, UJA, CNN and other outlets to get their message disseminated and to keep their unimaginable plight front and center. Click here to see them at Central Synagogue.
The families have made one simple request: call our Federal elected officials EVERY DAY and remind them to bring the hostages home. It is up to us to keep the pressure on our elected officials.
As Rachel Goldberg, whose son Hersh is being held captive, said: “You can do it while you are making your morning coffee.”
This is all you need to say:
“It’s day 21 of the war. Bring the hostages home.”
[Easy calculation of day number: war started Oct 7. In November, it will have been 24 days in October, + days in November]
Calling and leaving a message is more effective than writing. Call your Federal elected officials everyday – below is the info for Westchester County. If you live outside of Westchester, find your officals here.
Clarifying guidance about calling Federal officials: Some members have encountered full mailboxes when leaving voice messages for Senators Schumer and Gillibrand. Instead you can leave your message at their Hudson Valley offices listed below. If those mail boxes are full as well, just resume your calling the next day preferably in the morning. In addition, The White House only takes voice messages from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm Tuesday through Thursday.
Joseph R. Biden (D), President of the United States, (202) 456-1111
Kamala D. Harris (D), Vice President of the United States, (202) 456-1111
